LIFETIME LEADERS

For thirty-five years Lads to Leaders & Leaderettes has been training youth to be leaders in the Church.  However, there was never a way to measure how the program affects the lives of these youth after they reach adulthood.  Almost everywhere we go, adults tell us that Lads to Leaders & Leaderettes gave them the training and/or confidence to pursue what is now their life’s work.

As we travel across the country doing workshops and visiting congregations, we are occasionally asked, “How many preachers have you produced from this program?”  There has been no easy way to answer that. We have never had a way to measure that statistic or any other, like, “How many former Lads and Leaderettes are serving the church in some capacity?”

Because of these reasons, we decided to begin Lifetime Leaders.  To be a member of Lifetime Leaders, you simply have to be an adult involved with the program in one or more of the following ways:

  • You participated in the program as a youth.
  • You are currently a volunteer working with the youth at your congregation.
  • You are working with the National Service Center in some capacity, such as workshop staff, or as a Convention coordinator.
  • Youth who are College level and who are no longer participating in youth events are eligible to be a member, as well.

Lifetime Leaders is much the same as being an alumnus of a university.  Our reasons for beginning this are many.  We want to begin compiling real information on our youth as they mature into adults.  We also find more and more the need for talented adults who can help us with workshops, mentoring congregations as they begin new programs, and working with us at Leadership Camps, etc.  We have a wealth of talent in the brotherhood, most of whom would love to be helpful, but we currently have no way to know who you are!

I hope that you will consider becoming a Lifetime Leader and helping us to further grow and serve our brotherhood in the best possible ways!  If you are interested, please print the enrollment form and return it to the National Service Center to receive your free Lifetime Leaders lapel pin.

We have great things planned for Lifetime Leaders and we want you to be a part of them!
