Phillip Box (Are You in the Ark?)
is the pulpit minister for the Niceville Church of Christ in Niceville,
FL, where he has served since 2002. Prior to this work, he was in
Georgianna, AL and Selma, AL. Phillip was born in Montgomery, AL. He and
his wife, Paige, have one son, Brantley, age 5, and one daughter, Bryson,
age 2. Phillip attended both Troy State University and Faulkner University,
but is most thankful for the hands-on education that he received as the son
of a faithful, hard-working evangelist. He is the son of Charles Box who
preaches at the Walnut Street Church of Christ in Greenville, AL.
Richard (Dick) Boyd (Lot Chose for
Himself) serves as the pulpit minister of the Westchester Church of
Christ in White Plains, New York. He is a former missionary to the African
countries of Tanzania, Zimbabwe and Kenya. A graduate of Abilene Christian
University, he has served churches in Texas, Missouri, Colorado, California,
Georgia and New York. He also serves on the Board of Directors for Lads to
Leaders and has served as a Board Member for the City of Children in
Ensenada, Mexico. In his 38 years of ministry, he has served as a youth
director, educational minister and was an instructor in the Preacher
Training School in Zimbabwe, Africa. He has directed youth camps, taught
Men’s Leadership classes, worked with the Lads to Leaders programs and has
presented messages on television and preached on a weekly radio program. He,
and his wife Sharon, have four children and seven grandchildren.
Kyle Butt (Creation) graduated
from Freed-Hardeman University, where he earned a B.A. with a double major
in Bible and Communications, and an M.A. in New Testament. He is married to
the former Bethany Glass, and they have one son named Drew and a daughter
named Anna Claire. Currently, he works in the Bible Department at
Apologetics Press and is the editor of Discovery magazine. He has
authored several books on Christian Evidences for children and teens
including Out With Doubt and Dinosaurs Unleashed. He
frequently preaches Gospel meetings, does creation/evolution seminars, and
speaks at youth rallies all over the country.
Caleb Colley (The Flood)
is a
senior Bible/Communications major at Freed-Hardeman University. He has
participated in Lads to Leaders as a student and mentor for 13 years. He
served as President of the FHU student body for three semesters. He is an
intern at Gospel Broadcast Network, a contributor for Apologetics Press
publications, and has served as youth director at the Jacksonville church of
Christ. At FHU, he founded a collegiate chapter of National Right to Life,
and presided over the group for five semesters. He engineered Hannah’s
Hundred III and IV (Scripture set to music for children). He is the son of
Glenn and Cindy Colley, and is a member of the Henderson Church of Christ in
Henderson, Tennessee.
Glenn Colley (Worship: My Way or
God’s Way) serves as pulpit minister and as an elder at the West
Huntsville Church of Christ in Huntsville, AL. He speaks at various
lectureships and workshops throughout the United States and
internationally. Glenn is also the author of several books. He and his
wife, Cindy, are the parents of Caleb and Hannah. The family has composed
and produced four editions of the “Hannah’s Hundred” recordings of Bible
verses set to a capella music.
Bill Goodpasture (Am I My Brother’s
Keeper) preaches at the West Broward Church of Christ in Plantation,
FL. Prior to this work, he was in Huntingdon, TN for 10 years. He has been
preaching for 43 years. He attended Freed-Hardeman University and received
a B. A. at Lipscomb University and an M. S. in Bible from Abilene
University. He has authored two books, Lessons from I and II Samuel
and a commentary on Luke, and serves on the advisory board at Freed-Hardeman
University.
Steven K. Guy (Doubt: Satan’s
Favorite Weapon) serves as the pulpit minister of the Booneville Church
of Christ in Booneville, Mississippi. He is a professor of homiletics,
Bible, and ministry courses at Heritage Christian University in Florence,
Alabama. He has ministered in California, South Carolina, Tennessee,
Alabama, and Mississippi. He earned his Doctor of Ministry from Harding
University Graduate School of Religion in Memphis. In his 30 years of
ministry, he has taught Men’s Leadership Training Classes and Timothy
Classes, directed youth camps and Lads to Leaders programs, and presented
messages on radio and television. He has held revival meetings from coast
to coast. He, his wife Cynthia, and four sons - Jared, Nathan, Matthew, and
Jordan - have been involved with Lads to Leaders since 1996.
Donnie Hilliard (Building Homes, Not
Houses) is the Director of The Cloverdale Center for Family Strengths at
Faulkner University in Montgomery, Alabama. He has been married to Sherrie
for 26 years. They have a son, David (25) and a daughter, Sarah (22).
Roy Johnson (Finding Jesus in
Genesis) has been a minister of the Lord’s church for 27 years, having
preached at Campbell Springs Church of Christ for 18 years, and Hollins
Church of Christ for five years. He has also conducted many gospel meetings
and campaigns. Roy comes from a heritage of church leaders, with his
grandfather, father and brother all being elders. Roy served as an elder at
the Grant Church of Christ in Grant, Alabama and also currently serves as an
elder at the Hollins Church of Christ in Hollins, Alabama. Roy preached his
first sermon at age 12 and held his first gospel meeting at age 16. He is a
graduate of Alabama Christian College (Faulkner University) and Auburn
University. He has been married to Brenda Hurt Johnson for twenty-five
years, and they have three sons, Bryan, Ben and Brad.
Mike Kiser (The Faith of Abraham)
serves as the preacher and one of the elders for the church of Christ in
Sylacauga, Alabama. He has been with this congregation since July, 1987.
This congregation has been active in the Lads to Leaders program for several
years. Kiser is a native of West Virginia and a graduate of Russell High
School in Russell, Kentucky. He attended Freed-Hardeman University. He
married the former Miss Dollie Mead of Ashland, Kentucky in 1965. They have
three grown children and one grandchild. He has done full-time work in
Ohio, Wisconsin, Kentucky, Tennessee, Virginia, Georgia, and Alabama. He is
active in gospel meeting work which has taken him to 16 states and four
foreign countries. He has served as a full-time missionary in Ghana, West
Africa and has made 25 evangelistic trips into West Africa since 1974. He
has served for twenty years on the editorial staff of the quarterly paper
Gospel Gleaner, and has also served as an instructor in four schools of
preaching.
Drew Kizer (Resisting Temptation)
preaches for the Ashville Road church of Christ in Leeds, AL. He and his
wife, Julie, are the proud parents of a new baby girl, Ava Isabella. He
received a B. A. in Bible and an M. A. in New Testament from Freed-Hardeman
University. He frequently visits Russia where he serves as an instructor
for the Syktyvkar School of Biblical Studies.
Eric Lyons (Dinosaurs) is a
graduate of Freed-Hardeman University, where he earned a B.S. with a double
major in Bible and history, and an M. Min. Eric, his wife Jana, and their
three children (Bo, Micah, and Shelby) live in Montgomery, Alabama, where he
currently serves as a member of the Bible Department at Apologetics Press.
Eric is the author of The Anvil Rings: Answers to Alleged Bible
Discrepancies (Volumes 1 & 2), and co-author of the popular kid’s book
Dinosaurs Unleashed. In addition, he is editor of the Explorer
Series, and assistant editor of Discovery, the monthly magazine
on Scripture and science for children published by Apologetics Press.
Mike Winkler (The High Price of Sin)
has been a minister of the Lord’s church since high school. He is
currently serving as the pulpit minister for the Madison Church of Christ in
Madison, Alabama. Mike is a graduate of Oklahoma Christian and has an M.A.
in Bible from Abilene Christian University and an M.S. in counseling from
the University of South Alabama. Mike and his wife Pam have three children
and five grandchildren.
