LADS Academy
Our first few LADS Academies have been tremendous successes. We have had hundreds of
people from several states to attend. We would especially like to thank our
instructors for giving of their time to help others. We will
be planning LADS Academies in different regions in the future. The
next LADS Academy is planned for Saturday, November 3, 2007 in Florence, AL at
Heritage Christian University. Click on the links below to view flyers with details about the upcoming LADS
Academy or to view pictures from the first LADS Academy. If you would like to attend the next academy,
please let us know by emailing us at least one week prior to the Academy at
margaret@lads-to-leaders.org.

Moving Forward
Built on a rich tradition, Lads to Leaders/Leaderettes continues to move
forward. For 38 years, churches have used the Lads concept to train their youth
and strengthen their congregations. In order to serve you better, we have
developed new materials, new events, new training opportunities and are about to
move into a new home.
New Materials
Pearls: “Hold Fast to That Which Is Good”,
a 13-lesson topical study of First and
Second Thessalonians, First and Second Timothy and Titus features outstanding authors writing
on timely subjects.
Rules book ~ We have updated the
rules book which is downloadable at no cost from our website.
New Event
Know the Books: This new event is designed to ecnourage
students and adults of all ages to learn the books of the Bible. For students in 7th grade through adults,
it is a little more challenging. They learn the books and their themes. More details are available
in the rules book.
New Training
LADS: Lads Academy for Developing our Skills is adult leader training to sharpen
your skills in specific areas. The first Academy was held in July, 2007 at
Freed-Hardeman with over 100 in attendance. This free training will be coming to
an area near you in the future - details above!
Rules Book Changes
The Official Convention Rules Book has been
updated for the 2007 convention. It is a free download on the Rules Book page of
our website. Along with the rules book, there is a list of the events that have
changed so that you can print only the sections that you need. We expect to make
updates to the rules book each year as enhancements are made to the program.
New Materials Now Available
Don’t forget to order your materials for convention preparation. The Bible Bowl
study questions for 1 and 2 Thessalonians, 1 and 2 Timothy and Titus are ready to be ordered and delivered by
email or CD. There are a few hundred questions covering all chapters. The study
guide for the Pearls test, Hold Fast to That Which Is Good,
is a 13-chapter study guide that is designed for classroom use over a quarter,
but can also be used for individual study. This study guide will also be a good
supplement for Bible Bowl students. Contact the National Service Center for more
information or to order your materials!
2008 Convention Registration!
Registration for the 2008 convention will open in early November, and
registration packets will be mailed to team leaders in late October or early
November. The registration information (hotel costs, deadlines, addresses for
pre-convention events, etc.) is now available only on our website. There is a
section for each convention location with all details, plus a preliminary
schedule.
